TRAIN TRAVEL TIPS WITH YOUR PET
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Here’s a rewritten version for clarity and conciseness:
Passengers traveling in AC First Class or First Class may bring their pet dog, such as a German Shepherd, if they reserve either a two-berth or four-berth compartment exclusively for their use, paying applicable charges based on the train type.
For other classes, passengers are not allowed to carry dogs with them. However, dogs can be booked and transported in the Luggage/Brake Van with charges based on the train type. Specially designed Dog Boxes are available in the Brake Van for this purpose.
Passengers should contact the Parcel Office to book their pet dogs in advance.
Passengers found carrying dogs without proper booking will be charged according to existing rules.
Dogs carried in the brake van or AC First Class and First Class compartments will be charged based on weight (30 kgs for Dog-Box in brake van, 60 kgs in passenger compartments) at Scale ‘L’ (Luggage Rates), with a minimum charge of Rs. 10/- per dog, prepaid. “Seeing Eye” dogs accompanying blind persons in First Class compartments will be charged the same as dogs in the brake van. Collars and chains must be provided for the dogs.
Owners are responsible for providing water and food for their dogs during the journey.
Passengers in First Air Conditioned Class or First Class can bring a dog into the compartment only with consent from fellow passengers, paying charges as per Clause (1) above, prepaid.
If fellow passengers later object to the dog, it will be moved to the Guard’s van without refund.
A lady traveling alone with children under 12 years old in a First Class compartment may bring one dog with her on payment of Dog Box Rates, minimum Rs. 10/-, provided another lady entering the compartment consents to the dog’s presence.
Unbooked dogs will be charged at double the Dog-Box rate up to the point of detection and at the Dog-Box rate thereafter, with a minimum charge of Rs. 20/- per dog.
Dogs are not permitted in AC Sleeper Coaches, AC Chair Car Coaches, Sleeper Class, and Second Class coaches.
If a dog is found in violation of these rules, it will immediately be moved to the brake van and charged six times the Luggage Scale Rate, minimum Rs. 50/-.
Large dogs unable to fit in the dog-box of a brake van will be transported in a special vehicle under the same conditions and rates as for horses.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”979″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
